Jacksboro is the perfectly located emerging edge community poised for additional growth. We are 60 miles Southeast of Wichita Falls, 60 miles Northwest of Fort Worth, 75 miles from the DFW International Airport and 95 Miles Northwest of Dallas. We are known as the “Crossroads to West Texas” because of the configuration of six quality state and U.S. highways intersecting in our community.

Jacksboro Economic Development Corporation provides economic development support for those projects that comply with type B or the Development Corporation Act of 1979, as amended, following an enabling election February 1, 2003, hiring an executive director in July, 2009. Eligible projects may include yet are not limited to land, buildings, equipment, facilities, and improvements that assist in the promotion of new and expanded business development, job creation and retention as well as parks and related improvements and tourism.

A 177 acre Business Park is being developed on the north side of Jacksboro with entrances on Hwy 59 and CR 3344. Tracts ranging from less than 12 acres to 41+ acres are available with infrastructure development underway. A plentiful supply of water is included. The JEDC offers many opportunities to develop your industrial, logistic, transportation, or warehouse operations in a thriving, supportive, business friendly environment.

A retail development area known as Lumar Addition, has five remaining lots available from 3 acres to 1.26 acres. Faith Community Hospital and Wellness Center is situated at the rear of this area with prime locations on Hwy 281 (Main Street) and Hwy 148. Two major banks, Subway, The Dollar Store, Shopko, and Tractor Supply are located in Lumar, adjacent to Jacksboro High School and the newest housing development with all infrastructure in place for 34 homes. Other lots are on the market throughout the main commerce corridor and a few locations are currently available on the town square.
