Holliday, Texas • About

Holliday is in northern Archer County, southwest of Wichita Falls. U.S. Routes 82 and 277 pass along the northwest side of town, connecting it with Wichita Falls to the northeast and Seymour to the southwest. The community offers a small-town setting along one of North Texas’s established highway corridors.

Transportation and energy helped shape Holliday’s development. The Wichita Valley Railway reached the community in 1890, and nearby oil discoveries in the early twentieth century brought additional businesses and oilfield activity. That history connects Holliday to the region’s wider agricultural and energy heritage.

Local resources include Holliday Independent School District, the Holliday Public Library and the Archer County Activity Building. For businesses and families exploring the area, Holliday combines these community institutions with road access to the neighboring Wichita Falls region.
