There are several grants and incentives available in Electra to encourage economic growth.  The Business Development Corporation of Electra offers business incentives on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with state law, as well as a $150.00 utility credit to new businesses not in the historic district.

For businesses inside the historic district, the Main Street Program offers the $150.00 utility credit, as well as a Building Improvement Grant.  Main Street also provides a clean-up incentive, which provides for the one-time use of a commercial trash container.

The City of Electra offers a Downtwon Historic Building Restoration and Grant Program, as well as Section 380 Economic Development Agreements.  Also, the City will consider formal tax abatement agreements for very large projects.
