Parks & Recreation and TPWD will conduct these after school fishing sessions for all interested area youth ages 5 through 16 (11 and younger must be accompanied by an adult). All fishing equipment, bait, and supervision will be provided. Kids need only to show up and be prepared to have a good time. A downtown parade features the official "Ambassadors on Horseback," the Santa Rosa Palomino Club. Afterward, head out to the Santa Rosa Rodeo grounds for some barbecue sponsored by the Lion's Club, then get ready for rodeo—complete with muttin' bustin', a calf scramble, ride the hide, ranch bronc riding, PRCA rough stock, and timed events. Electra Goat Barbecue and Craft Show

During the 35th annual cook-off sanctioned by Lone Star Barbecue Society, cookers compete in four meat categories: goat, chicken, brisket, and ribs.
